
Delma Bastarache
At her residence, December 5, 2010, Sister Delma Bastarache of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 69 years with 52 years of religious life. Born at Bouctouche in 1941, she was a daughter of the late Adelard and Laura (Babineau) Bastarache. Sister Bastarache moved to Grand Falls in 1962 where she began a long career in teaching. She was particularly proud of the fact she taught 35 years at École Marie-Immaculée, always teaching a grade one class, always in the same classroom. Besides her religious family, she is survived by four sisters, Leona Parker (Clarence) of Moncton, Lina Martin (Albert) of Saint-Louis, Cecile Breau (Gerard) of St-Grégoire and Julia Richard (Camille) of Moncton, three brothers, Laurie Bastarache (Murielle) of Bouctouche, Azor Bastarache (Louiselle) of St-Thomas-de-Kent and Edmond Bastarache (Maria) of Grande-Digue, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Doris Bastarache.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours on Tuesday, December 7th from 7 to 9 p.m. Sister Bastarache will then be resting at Pavillon Notre-Dame-d'Acadie of Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Street entrance) where visiting hours will be on Wednesday, December 8th from 2 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, December 9th from 9 to 9:40 a.m. Solemn Vespers will be held Wednesday evening. at 7 p.m. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, December 9th at 10 a.m. from the Christ-Roi Roman Catholic Church, Moncton.
