John Sullivan
Passed on: November 29th, 2010
John Joseph Sullivan passed away, peacefully but unexpectedly at his son's home in Conception Bay South on Monday, November 29, 2010, age 68 years. Left with fond and loving memories, his wife of 44 years, Rita; sons Johnny and Conrad (Ann Marie); daughters Michelle and Lisa (Brian); grandchildren: Emma, Maisy and Sophie; and many other relatives and friends. John was an entrepreneur and a barber/hairstylist for 51 years in Grand Falls-Windsor. Throughout his career he made numerous house calls, provided services at the Carmelite House, Bishop's Falls Correctional Centre, and participated in cancer fund-raising activities. John was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Multi-cultural Association, a member of the Grand Falls Town Band, and a member of the Grand Falls-Windsor Business Hall of Fame. John loved spending time with his family and enjoyed music immensely. He played the E flat horn, french horn, trumpet, guitar, piano, and accordian. He appreciated nature, loved moose hunting, and had great respect for all cultures. He participated in karate, step dancing, and recreational hockey as a goalie. On a lighter note, he was an avid prankster, an avid card shark, sun worshiper, lover of black, white, red and all things gold - and staying in fine hotels! We love you and will miss you dearly John, Dad, Poppy... xo.
