Herbert Arthur "Art" Passed away at Providence Place on December 6th, 2010. Art was predeceased by Mavis Lucas (2006), and his granddaughter Loni LaBarge (1994). He will be sadly missed by his children Reg (Trang), Tim (Faye), Linda (Len) LaBarge, Reva (James) Phillips, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his sisters Reva Harrison (Den, deceased), Betty Dreger (Bill, deceased) and Lois Holdal (George). Art was born on October 24th, 1918 in Moose Jaw, SK to Herbert and Bessie Rowell. He was a farmer but spent 11 years with CPR, and later the Trans Canada Pipeline. Art retired from the Trans Canada Pipeline in 1978, and then became a stay at home dad, raising Reva in their home in Moose Jaw. Art was skilled at woodworking, and also enjoyed hunting. The family extends special thanks to the staff at Providence Place, Raphael Wing, for the wonderful care they gave dad while he was there. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, December 9th, 2010 at 1:30 pm at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Moose Jaw Humane Society would be appreciated.
