It is with great sadness that the family of the late Melvin J. Gabriel announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the age of 76 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Gloria and one son Tony (Monica) Gabriel of Heatherton, three daughters: Shirley (Dave) Lomond of Stephenville, Theresa (Vince) Felix of Stephenville, Hazel (Alvin) White of Stephenville and two brothers: Mercier (Pat) Gabriel of Sault-Ste-Marie, Fintan (Emma) Gabriel of Kippens and three sisters: Doreen (Ted) Doucette of Kippens, Loretta (Joe) Gillis of Baie Verte, Joan (Fred) Felix of Stephenville, three grandchildren: Leanne, Donovan, Kyle and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife Eileen Gabriel and parents William & Margaret Gabriel. Visitation took place at Russell's Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville Wednesday, December 8 from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place today, Thursday, December 9th at 1:30 p.m. at St. Stephen's Parish, West Street, Stephenville with cremation to follow. Interment will take place on Saturday, December 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville.
