It is with great sadness that we, the family of Gerald ‘Gerry’ Aucoin announce his sudden passing at home on June 23, 2009.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Gerald and Theresa (Crewe) Aucoin.
He had been employed at the Sydney Steel Plant for over 30 years, retiring in 1995 and in his early years worked at David’s Groceries on Charlotte Street.
Gerry enjoyed visits from family, neighbours and friends and loved spending time on his patio and front step.
Gerry is survived by his three sisters, Barbara (Bev) Pearl, Tancook Island, Janet (Fred) Griffin, Sydney, Michelle (Sheldon) Roach, Lower Sackville; sister-in-law, Sharon Aucoin, Ottawa; and by his old faithful companion ‘Buddy’. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Paul.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 27 at St. Theresa’s Church, with Fr. James Oliver officiating. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks. A reception will take place in St. Theresa’s Hall.
