Phyllis Marjorie MacLeod (nee Bruce) was born August 8, 1916 in Stellarton, NS. Died June 23, 2009 in Ottawa, ON.
She was predeceased by husband, William Marshall MacLeod, married in 1941.
She is survived by son, William Dugald Bruce and wife, Mary Jane McBane, of Ottawa, ON and their children, Sarah, Nicholas and Caitlin; daughter, Shelagh Isabelle Ellen and husband, Brian Harry Lobay, of Edmonton, AB, and their children, Jacelyn, Ryan and Robyn; and niece, Carol Anne Bruce MacLean and family, of St. Andres by the Sea, NB.
Predeceased by grandparents, Henry Hector Bruce and Sarah Agnes MacVicker, Effrim Howard Wright and Agnes Jane Harkness; parents, Daniel McVicker Bruce and Nellie Mae Wright; brother, Cecil Wright Bruce and his wife Auldes Black.
Educated in Stellarton, NS and New Glasgow, NS schools and earned D.H.E. at Acadia University, NS (1931). Employed in Car Works Office, Trenton, NS Industries during WWII and at College Desk of Columbia University, New York City, 1945-48.
She will be missed by family, friends, neighbours and long time Westboro United Church associates. A dear and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, church woman, neighbour and loyal friend.
The family wishes to thank the many individuals who have provided such thoughtful care and support over the past number of years. Friends are invited to visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue (at Richmond Road) on Friday from 4-7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. Those wishing may make memorial donations to the CNIB.
