KATHLEEN TORBITT

MWO (Ret'd) Kathleen "Kathy" Torbitt, beloved wife and best friend of George (Matt) Wadden, passed away after a courageous struggle with cancer in Pembroke Regional Hospital on Saturday, November 27, at the age of 56 years. She was the daughter of the late Eve and Art Torbitt, (Chaplin), and is survived by brothers, Allan Torbitt, Ottawa and Tom Torbitt, Winnipeg. She is also survived by George's children, son Doug (Darlene), grandchildren Drew and Danielle, Orangeville, Ontario; daughter Cheryl Ramsay (Frank), Ingleside, Ontario; special pet Paddy; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in western Canada. Kathy was born in Souris, Manitoba and in 1966 moved to the family farm in Chaplin, Sask. At a young age she joined the Canadian military and served in various postings, including CFB Moose Jaw, and retired with a rank of Master Warrant Officer after a prosperous career spanning 29 years. Memorial visitation was held at the Malcolm, Deavitt, and Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembrooke on December 1. Interment occurred on December 2 in the National Military Cemetery (Beechwood), Ottawa. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Renfrew County Branch of the OSPCA would be appreciated.
