JOHN WESLEY MOWAT MACDONALD - Passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside on Dec. 7, 2010 following a brave and inspiring battle with Alzheimer's. This exceptional husband, father, grandfather and friend was loved by all for his very genuine affection, kindness and generous spirit. His joie de vive, warmth and humour are greatly missed. Born on Sept. 8, 1933, in Campbellton New Brunswick, John led a full life. After graduating from Queen's University with a Bachelor of Commerce and Arts, he married the love of his life, Jeanette, and returned to his home town as an entrepreneur and passionate Canadian. The father of five made great contributions to his community as Mayor of Campbellton and as founder of Northeast Pine Products Ltd. In his later years, he became an international importer of wood products based in Toronto. John's memory lives on with his wife of 55 years, Jeanette, and his children: Lesley (Rob Simpson), Margot (Eric) Hanna, Jock (Janet Griffin), Rob and Chris (Lisa Telio). He was the proud and loving grandfather of Kristine, Sean, Elizabeth, Jessica, Kayle, Jared, Jodi and Zaecri.
