PICTOU - Deborah Janet (Thompson) Dawson, 57, of the Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou, passed away peacefully December 9, 2010, in the home.
Born in Pictou, she was a daughter of Rennie Thompson, and the late Margaret (Comrie) Thompson.
Debbie enjoyed music and playing guitar. She loved get togethers where she was the life of the party. She was also strong willed and independent. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Debbie was well loved and will be forever missed by her family: husband, Peter Dawson, Westville; father, Rennie (Evelyn) Thompson, Truro; sons, Brian (Marla) Bransfield, Kingston, Ontario; Nicholas Bransfield, Stellarton; Andrew Bransfield, Eastern Passage; daughters, Rebecca (Matthew) Dawson Hillier, Edmonton; Holly Dawson, Lower Sackville; grandsons, Cameron Bransfield and Christian Hillier; sister, Brenda (Paul) Rudolph, Pictou; brothers, John (Marsha), Pictou; Carson, Scotch Hill; Robert, Vancouver; nieces, Brandi and Jolynn; nephews, Tyler, Christopher, and Johnny.
She was predeceased by her mother, Margaret.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Monday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Tuesday from St. James Anglican Church, Pictou. Burial will be in Central Caribou Cemetery. A reception will follow in the church hall.
