Arthur Wilson
The death of Arthur R. Wilson, loving husband to Ethel (Hovey) Wilson, occurred on Friday December 10, 2010 at Ridgewood Veterans Wing. Born 1922 in Hartland, NB he was the son of the late James and Albina (Sweeney) Wilson. Arthur was a veteran of WWII, joining the RCAF in 1941. He later worked as a foreman for C.P. Rail for 44 years. He was an avid hunter, fly fisherman and sports fan. In his earlier years he enjoyed playing baseball in the River Valley Intermediate League. In addition to his wife Ethel of 64 years, he is survived by his sons Theodore (Judy) Wilson, Jerry (Janice) Wilson both of Saint John; daughters Elizabeth (Roy) Morrell and Beverly Wilson both of Saint John; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers James and Lyle and sisters Irene Shaw, Edna Schultz and Violet Sherwood. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff and doctors at Ridgewood for the kindness and compassion shown to Arthur and his family.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Sunday December 12, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Tribute to a Veterans Service will begin at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday December 13, 2010 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
