Murray Ward
At the Chalmer's Regional Hospital, Fredericton on Saturday, December 11th, 2010 Murray Hammond Ward of Hopkins Road, Gaspereau Forks, passed away at the age of 86 years. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. For the most part of Murray's life he was a woodsman owning and operating a sawmill. For the latter part of his working life he was employed by the New Brunswick Department of Transportation where he was highway superintendent until retirement in 1987. Murray is survived by his wife, Nancy (Hopkins) Ward; son Terry (Linda); grandsons, Trevor (Patsy ) of Gaspereau Forks and Shaun (Carrie-Ann) of Chipman; stepsons, Ronnie (Anita) Hopkins of Nova Scotia and Jim Oickle of British Columbia; step-daughters Susan (Janice) Reed of British Columbia and Norma (Joey) Mabie of Grand Falls and Carolyn Dimock of Fredericton; step-grandchildren, Jody, Della, Patricia, Cara, Jessica and Tara-Jo and Tyler; by great-grandchildren, Austin, Aidan and Chloe; step-great-grandchildren, Cole and Lucas; several nieces and nephews; by sister-in-laws Grace Lunergan of Fredericton, June Pickard of Sypher's Cove and Murial Pickard of Minto. Murray was predeceased by his parents Jim and Violet (Briggs), sister Bernetta, first wife Mae (Pickard) Ward and daughter, Laura Lee.
Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Thursday, December 15th, 2010 when funeral service will be held from the Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Paul Bannister officiating. Interment in the Second Chipman United Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Cancer Society, Alzheimer Society, or donor's choice would be appreciated by the family Condolences may be made through www.chipmanfuneralhome.ca.
