PENNEY, Howard Nelson - 76, of Yarmouth, passed away in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on December 6, 2010. Born February 11, 1934 in Rockville, Yarmouth Co., he was a son of the late Delmar and Aurelia (Smith) Penney. Howard was a former member of the Canadian Armed Forces, which included serving in Cyprus. He worked as a carpet layer and was an avid pool player. He is survived by long-time companion, Jeannie; daughters, Heather (Jorgen) O'Berg, Calgary; Linda Lee Robuck, Calgary; Tammie Penney, Calgary; brothers, Anderson, Dayton; Calvin (Carolyn), Yarmouth; Clinton (Nancy), Chegoggin; sisters, Jessie Penney, Yarmouth; Joan (Roy) Ritchie, Yarmouth; Sarah (Lloyd) Harding, Darlings Lake; Jennie Bethune, Concession; Beverley (Jean) Melanson, Salmon River; five grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, Graham; sisters, Doreen, Arlene, Irva, Betty and Marilyn; brothers, Marsden, Stanley, Clyde, Leslie and Clayton. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny's Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Yarmouth. A memorial service was held Friday, December 10 at 2 p.m. from Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. A. D. "Bill" Newell officiated. Interment followed in Chebogue Cemetery. Family flowers only, please.
