It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nellie Young of Stephenville announce her passing at her family residence in Stephenville, NL on Saturday, December 11th at the age of 85 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her partner Wilson Burton; six sons: Cecil (Irene), Bondhead, ON, James (Sharon), Lourdes, Melvin, Oshawa, ON, Jerome (Mary), Stephenville, Roger, Fort McMurray, AB, Nelson (Brenda), Fort McMurray, AB; six daughters: Theresa (Larry) Canterella, Utah, Phyllis (Abby) Eddy, Fort McMurray, AB, Helene Jesso, Fort McMurray, AB, Shirley Duffenais, Stephenville, Lorraine (Martin) Rotchford, Fort McMurray, AB, Bessie Young, Long Pond Manuels, St. John's; step-daughters: Mary Ina (Raymond) Jesso, Stephenville, Elizabeth (Aloysious) White, Stephenville, Adella Cormier, Fort McMurray, AB; 38 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters: Pearl LeCoure, Port au Port, Alice Janes, Kippens, Dulcie (James) Gillis, Stephenville, Eunice Bennett, Stephenville, Gretta (Ross), Corner Brook, Jean Martin, Port au Port, Laura Companion, Stephenville; brother Cecil Abbott, Boswarlos as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Emmanuel Young; parents Edward and Eunice Abbott; children: Clyde, Lloyd, Joseph, Maisie; step-son-in-law James Cormier; sisters: Theresa Chubb, Gwen Cole; a special sister-in-law Leone Young and a very special friend Kathleen Eddy. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday from 7 - 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. from Fillatre's Funeral Home in Stephenville Crossing. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church in St. George's with Mr. James Abbott officiating. Interment will follow at the Non-denominational Christian Cemetery in St. George's. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
