Leonard Gamlin
1917 - 2010 - Leonard W. Gamlin of Moncton, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital on December 12th, 2010 at the age of 93. He was a resident of l'Auberge du Soleil. Born in Lachine, QC September 3rd, 1917, he was the son of the late Richard D. Gamlin and the late Isabelle Degrâce-Gamlin-Renault and a stepson of the late Dominique Renault. A loving husband and father, he will be sadly missed by his wife of 68 years Gabrielle and his children: Joan Wong (Dr. James), Ottawa, ON, Louise Gamlin-Bourgeois (Claude), Moncton, NB, Ronald Gamlin, (Odette Ménard), Ottawa, ON, Lucille Gamlin-Desjardins, Moncton, NB, Nancy Gamlin-Légère (Paul-Emile), Barachois, NB, 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He also leaves in mourning his stepbrother, Roger Renault (Camilla Michaud) and two stepsisters: Évangéline (Meddy Cormier), Yvette (Neil Coyle), all of Moncton, NB and several nieces and nephews. He was a Roman Catholic and a life member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a long time member of the Beauséjour Curling Club, The Moncton Golf Club and The Lions Centre's Seniors Bridge Club. He was a C.N.R. Conductor for thirty-five years.
No visitation by request of the family. Funeral service will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Thursday, December 16th, 2010 at 11 am, followed by a reception for family and friends. Interment to be held at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Dieppe. Thank you to Dr. Hubert Dupuis and the staff of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital for all the wonderful care he received. We also thank the staff at l'Auberge du Soleil for making him very comfortable for the past two years.
