The passing of Irene Anna Clark occurred on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital. She was 86. Born on November 21st 1924 in New Denmark N.B, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Minnie (Petersen) Paulsen. A member of St. Margaret's Anglican Church, Irene worked as a cashier at the UNB bookstore from 1963 to 1989 retiring at age 65. A member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4 Ladies Auxiliary she was also active in the church's coffee club & bible study. Survived by one daughter Susan Clark of Fredericton, three grandchildren Kirk Nevers (Karen) of Fredericton, Jennifer Lawrence-Nevers of Fredericton, Amy Parsons of Fredericton, four great-grandchildren Cody and Matthew Nevers, Aiden Lawrence and Anna Parsons. Irene was predeceased by her parents, husband Cyril Clark and one brother George Paulsen.
Although there will be no visitation, a memorial service will take place at Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Friday, December 17th, at 11 A.M. with Canon Jon Lownds officiating. Interment will take place at the Forest Hill Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish, memorial contributions to St. Margaret's Anglican Church would be appreciated by the family.
