Phyllis "Phyl" B. Taylor, 89, of Moncton and formerly of Notre Dame, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday December 15, 2010. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late William and Frances (Stewart) MacWilliam. Phyl was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Church, a former member of the IODE, an avid bridge player and enjoyed spending precious time with her family and friends, especially her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. Phyl will be sadly missed by her children, Barb Porter (Reg Sweet) of Moncton and James "Jim" W. Taylor (Jeannette) of Notre Dame; grandchildren, Shawn Taylor (Crystal Carruthers), Sasha Richard (Mario), Sandra Taylor, Dana Porter, Derek Porter (Sophie), Kristy Porter (Jordan Gunther); great grandchildren, Hendrix and Hayden; daughter-in-law, Della Taylor of Dieppe and several loving extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Hector "Mac" MacQuarrie (1944) and her second husband, Donald Taylor (1992); sons, Scott Taylor (1967) and Brian Taylor (2004).
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Friday December 17, 2010, 1:30 pm, Rev. Dr. Philip Griffin-Allwood officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery.
