Daniel "Danny" Doiron, 38, passed away peacefully at home in Cap Pelé with his family by his side on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Moncton, he was the son of Omer and Majella (Pellerin) Doiron of Cap Pelé. Danny was employed with Correctional Service of Canada as a correctional officer prior to his illness. He had worked previously at the Springhill Institution and up to his illness, he was employed at the Dorchester Penitentiary. He was an avid Red Sox fan. Annie and Danny have known each other for 18 years and have been married for 9 of those years. He will be greatly missed by his loving and devoted parents, his adoring wife Annie (née Boudreau) Doiron and their two beautiful children whom he cherished and adored, Renelle and Samuel, many aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues, friends and his faithful companion the family dog "Chica".
The family will receive relatives and friends at Funérarium Frenette, 2642 Acadie Rd., Cap Pelé (577-3297) on Friday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, from 10 a.m. until time of departure. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Ste. Thérèse d'Avila Roman Catholic Church in Cap Pelé. Interment in the parish cemetery.
