It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Theresa Annie Cook of Kamloops, B.C. on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Royal Inland Hospital at the age of 77 years.
Mom will be missed dearly by children Gerald (Bev) Cook of Surrey, B.C., Karen Cook of Kamloops, Ken (Nanci) Cook of Kamloops, Diane (Keith) Marshall of Calgary, Patsy (Alan) Cook of Kamloops and son-in-law Donald Parke. Also left with cherished memories are her grandchildren, Jason, Jeff & Tyler Carlson, Alan & Neil Parke, Matt, Rod & Isa Cook, Courtney, Erin and Justin Marshall, her sisters, Rosie (Mervin) Goller of Sask, Irene (Cyril) Marcotte of Sask, Elsie Ziebart of Calgary, brothers Ed (Elaine) of USA, Joe (Kathy) Vinish of Ontario, Don Vinish of Sask, Dennis (Betty) of Alberta, Larry (Linda) Vinish of Surrey. B.C, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Roderick Cook, her daughter Daphne Parke, son-in-law Steve Scott and her parents Joseph and Margaret Vinish.
Mom was a psychiatric nurse in B.C. and Sask at a young age. In 1968 our parents moved to Kamloops, Mom worked at Tranquille School until its closure and continued part time at KSCL until retirement. Mom enjoyed her time at Scotch Creek with her many family members and neighbours. Mom enjoyed the evening around the fire listening to the day's tales from all her grandchildren and enjoyed many quiet winter evenings.
A very special thank you to Dr. Proctor for allowing us this extra time. Family members also extend their thanks to the nursing staff and all other physicians at R.I.H. For giving our mother respect and dignity during her illness.
The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 20, 2010 at the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive. Following the service the cremated remains of Theresa will be interred at Hillside Cemetery.
