It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Helen Sabyan of Barriere.

Helen passed away peacefully at the Overlander Extended Care home on December 15th.

Helen was born on May 11, 1929 is Lestock, Saskatchewan. She married there in 1954 and soon after moved to BC. She lived in Cawston, then worked on two ranches between Merrit and Kamloops, before moving to Barriere in 1970. She resided in Barriere until 2008 when illness forced her into care in Kamloops.

Helen is survived by her four children Joe (Joanna) of Kamloops, Carol Roth (Steve) of Kelowna, Brian (Wendy) of Barriere and Heather Buholzer (Barry) of Kamloops, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Helen (Mom) was an active member of the Catholic church, she enjoyed playing cards and bingo, and outings with friends. Nothing brought her more joy though, than spending time with her family. Mom will be missed dearly, but will live forever in our hearts and memories. Her spirit is free again to laugh, and dance and sing and do all the things she once enjoyed.
The family would like to thank the staff at Overlander Extended Care for all they did for her. We know she was in caring hands.

A Celebration of Helen's Life will be held at the Barriere Legion, lower level from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. on January 15, 2011.
