Larry Owen Boyd - 66, of Kentville, Nova Scotia, passed away at home on Friday, December 17, 2010. Born in Three Mile Plains, he was a son of the late Arthur and Ruth (Cox) Boyd. Larry retired in 2006 after 32 years of teaching at the New Minas Elementary School. His previous employment included serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force, Dupont Nylon of Kingston, Ontario and working at the Federal Penitentiary in Dorchester. He is survived by his wife, the former Elaine Johnson; a son, Ashley (Patricia), Ottawa; two daughters, Lara Boyd (Beto Cabrera), Japan; Carolyn (Brian) Rockwell, Hantsport; four grandchildren, Yasmine, Malcolm, Farley and Boyd; a brother, Paul (Sylvia), Sackville, New Brunswick; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Garth and a sister, Rosita Brown. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2010 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010, Reverend Doctor Randy Crozsman will be officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Westcock Cemetery, Westcock, New Brunswick. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
