Laura Patterson

Laura K. Patterson (nee Hubley) of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Ellsworth Robert Patterson passed away at her home on December 19, 2010. Laura was born in Elgin, NB in 1917 to Wilford and Delilah (Geldart) Hubley and lived her childhood in Anagance, NB. She and her husband raised their family and operated the farm business in Temple, NB. She attended Sussex High School and the Provincial Normal School in Fredericton. In her early years, she taught school in Pollett River, Wheaton Settlement and Dowville (now Temple). Later in life she taught in Meductic. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister Anne Norman of Ontario, son Ellsworth ( Buddy) Patterson of Westland, Michigan, daughter, Shirley Hansen of Woodstock, three sons-in-law, Allen Peabody, Michael Harling and Everett Hansen. Laura is survived by two daughters, Norma Peabody and Marie Harling, both of Fredericton,NB; a son, Wilfred Patterson (Katherine) of Temple, NB; a daughter-in-law, Penny Patterson of Westland, Michigan; grandchildren, David Hansen, Moncton, Neil Hansen (Sheila), Woodstock, Eric Peabody (Tobie), Fredericton, Allen Peabody (Keitha), BC, Gary Peabody (Tina), Fredericton, Steven Peabody (Melissa), Woodstock, Bruce Harling (Jennifer), Ottawa, ON, Karen Harling, Truro, NS, Robert Patterson (Nancy), Laura Schauder (Steven) and Donna Butler (Pat), all of Michigan; twenty great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic on Thursday, December 30 from 3 to 5 p.m. Funeral will be held on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 11a.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gil MacKenzie officiating. Interment will be later at Lower Meductic Cemetery.
