FUNERAL - EVERETT ALLEN
The funeral of the late Everett Allen was held on December 8th, 2010 in the Chapel of Patten's Funeral Home in Glace Bay with Pastor Bob Lawther presiding. Hymn selections were led by Jack Davies accompanied by Irene Ellefsen on the organ. Daughters Evelyn MacGilllivary and Jean Smith delivered the eulogy for their father. Burial followed at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were grandsons Evan and Allen Jobe, son-in-law Mel Smith and close family friends Joe Murphy, Gordon Simms and Olaf (Bobby) Ellefsen.

The family of the late Everett Allen wish to express our gratitude for all the kindness shown to us by relatives, friends, colleagues and neighbors during our recent loss. Our thanks as well to all those who sent flowers, visited, phoned, made donations, sent cards and brought an abundance of food to our homes. Our heartfelt appreciation and respect goes to all the staff of the third floor of the Glace Bay General Hospital who took excellent, professional and loving care of our father and especialy to Jill (his favorite nurse)! Sincere thank you as well to Drs. Rehman, Rebello, Butler and to Radiologist Dr. H. Walker. A special thanks as well to the Lab and Diagnostic Imaging staff who always were so very kind. Thank you to the Palliative Care team for their kindness and caring and who played a special part in managing Dad's care. Sincere apprecaiton is felt for Pastor Bob Lawther for his spiritual guidance, for his wife Karen who took care of the many details, and for Lloyd and Bobby Ellefsen who helped minister to Dad in his need. We sincerely appreciate the Service and the Honor Guard respectfully performed by Dad's comrades, the Legion members of the John Bernard Croak, Branch 3, Royal Canadian Legion. Special thanks to Patten's Funeral Home and to Vina Johnson and her staff for their kindness and professionalism shown to us at this difficult time. God Bless You All.
