Regina E. Clarke of York Mills and Fredericton, NB passed away on December 19, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born at York Mills, NB on August 7, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Lottie (Nesbitt) Little. Regina graduated from Mount Allison Girls' Academy and was a member of RCAF Women's Division. She was a dedicated visitor and volunteer in her community for the CGIT, Hospital Aid, Music Festival and foot clinic. She enjoyed a variety of sports as both a participant and spectator, participating in the Terry Fox Run for many years. She had a life-long love of music, particularly playing the piano. Regina also loved to write. She kept a diary for many years and authored a family history "Growing Up In York Mills." Regina is survived by her sister, Marie Rushbrook, Fredericton, NB; nieces and nephews, Susan (Ron) Gladiuk, Abbotsford, BC, David (Lucie) Rushbrook, Whistler, BC, John (Brenda) Little, York Mills, NB, Nancy Briggs, Beaverton, ON, Janet (Hal) Mersereau, St. George, NB and Stuart (Carol) Little, York Mills, NB and several cousins and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Regina was predeceased by her brothers, Edwin and Roy Little, sister-in-law, Frances Little, nephew John Rushbrook and niece Patricia Little. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Laura-Lea McKay, Dr. Marisette, nursing staff of 4SE at DECH, staff of Shannex Brunswick Hall and Windsor Court.
At Regina's request, there will be no visitation. However, friends are welcome to attend a funeral service to be held at St. Andrew's United Church of Canada, 2350 Route 3, Harvey Station, NB on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 2 p.m. Rev. Kay Clowater and Rev. George Clark will officiate. A reception will follow in the CE Center of the church. Interment will take place at Harvey Settlement Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Tim Lister Fund, the York Mills Hall or a charity of the donor's choice.
