DOUGLAS CAMPBELL

On Saturday, December 18, 2010 Mr. Douglas William Campbell (formerly of Moose Jaw) passed away peacefully at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home in Kamloops, B.C. He is survived by his loving family, two sons Robert (Wendy) of Regina and Don (Sandy) of Kamloops and five grandchildren, Stephanie, Katie, Kirstin (Zac), Jailene, Chianne and one great-grandchild Alexander. Doug was predeceased by his loving wife Marjorie in July 2010. Doug was born on February 27, 1921 in Red Deer, Alberta. He farmed in Delburne, Alberta, and in 1943 joined the R.A.F., serving overseas until 1945. He flew Spitfires with 401 Squadron. In 1972, Doug retired from the Air Force, having served three tours in Europe and was stationed in various cities in Canada, including Toronto, Montreal and ending his career in Moose Jaw. He enjoyed spending time in his garden, being in the outdoors, and traveling the world. Doug was a doting and loving father and grandfather. After Marjorie passed he moved to Kamloops where he cherished his new friendships. He will be dearly missed. Should friends desire, donations to the Kamloops Hospice Association, 72 Whiteshield Crescent S., Kamloops, BC V2E 2S9 in memory of Doug would be appreciated.
