Stephen Tattrie, 47, Truro. It is with both sadness and shock the family announces the sudden passing of Stephen on June 24, 2009.
Stephen was born on Nov. 11, 1961. He graduated from the Cobequid Educational Centre and stayed in the Truro area. Stephen was not an outgoing person but for the family and friends that knew him they saw a very caring, honest person who did not require material things to make him happy. He always had a soft spot for older people. This was very apparent in his special relationship with his grandmother, “Nan,” Mary Tattrie and his aunt Dot and great-grandmother Annie Skeen. “Nan” passed away last year and we are sure Stephen and “Nan” are already playing cards and enjoying the sunshine.
Stephen is survived by his son Chad Weatherby and grandson Domonic; his mother Ann Henderson (Clarke) and stepfather John Henderson; sister Lynn Tattrie; half-sister Deanna Baird; half-brother Dale Henderson; step-sisters Verna Priest and Veronica McInnis; step-brother Johnny. Stephen was very close to his aunt Candace Tattrie who was like a sister to him. Also surviving are many cousins, uncles and aunts and his biological father Robert Tattrie. Stephen also leaves behind his best friend of many years, John Blair. John did so much for Stephen, especially in the last few years.
Please join us to say “so long for now” to Stephen on Tuesday, June 30, at 11 a.m. in Watson Cemetery, East Prince Street, Truro for a graveside service, with Rev. Gary Yetman officiating.
