GRAHAM, Alfred Claire - 78, Great Village, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2010, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, after a brief illness. Born and raised in Debert, he was a son of the late Alfred and Stella (Berry) Graham. Claire spent most of his adult life working in construction as a heavy equipment operator, over the Northern parts of Canada from one coast to the other. His last 20 years of work was with Gateway Materials in Kearney Lake, from where he retired in 1997. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and looking after his property. Claire is survived by his spouse of 37 years, Janet Ashe; brother, Clifford (Ruth) Graham, Great Village; sister, Jeanne (David) Large, Port Joli; two special nephews, Percy (Joy) Graham, Great Village; Stephen (Deanna) Graham, Truro, along with other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Vaughan; twin brother, Clarence (December 27, 2008). All are welcome to attend a graveside interment service that will be held at a later date in Main Road Cemetery, Debert. An announcement will be made later in the spring. If so desired, donations in Claire's memory to Palliative Care Unit, Colchester Regional Hospital are welcomed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
