Debbie McCarthy
Debbie McCarthy passed away suddenly on at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 22, 2010. She was born on March 20, 1957 at Saint John to Rose McCarthy (McIntyre) and the late Mark McCarthy. Debbie was a graduate of Simonds High School (1975) and the Saint John School of Nursing (1977). After graduation, she was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital for many years, both as a regular and operating room nurse. She then transferred to Ridgewood Veteran's Hospital and was at the time of death coordinator of Lone Water Farm. She is survived by her three children: Jason, Laura and Karen Heans; grandson, Myles; dearest friend, Kevin Hawkins; three brothers: David (Sue), Douglas (Mary Jo) and Dan McCarthy (Renée); sister, Ellen McCarthy (Paul-Emile); Alan Heans, the father of her children, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Debbie's life revolved around her love of nursing and her devotion to her children and grandchild.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday, December 27, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Pius X Church, Somerset Street on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 11 AM.
