Gemma Robichaud 83, of St. Louis de Kent, N.B., passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent, on Wednesday, December 22, 2010.
Born in St. Louis de Kent she was the daughter of the late Prudent and late Zélia (Chevarie) Richard. Gemma attended St. Louis des Français Roman Catholic Church, St. Louis de Kent. She volunteered much of her time to the towns of St. Louis and St. Ignace.
Gemma will be sadly missed by her husband, Adelin Robichaud; two daughters, Patricia Walus (late Lawrence) of Charlottetown, P.E.I., Ginette LeBlanc (Léo-Paul) of Dieppe; four sons, David Plourde (Irene) of Moncton, Robert Plourde (Yvonne) of Clair, Maurice Plourde (Lorraine) of La Broquerie, Manitoba, Rosaire Plourde of Moncton; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six sisters, Maria Richard (Gérard) of St. Ignace, Germaine Richard (Odilon) of St. Antoine, Yvonne LeBlanc (late Adolphe) of St. Ignace, Juliana Johnson (Vincent) of Pont du Milieu, Eliza Comeau (late Eric) of St. Ignace, Rose Gallant (Louis Marcoux) of St. Ignace; three brothers, Laurie Richard (Lucie) of Dieppe, Alyre Richard (Marie Louise) St. Ignace, Claude Richard (Marie Laure) of Irishtown; three sisters-in-law, Alma Richard, Nélida Richard and Yvonne Richard all of St. Louis and many nieces and nephews.
Gemma was predeceased by her parents; first husband, Réginald Plourde; one daughter, Lisa; one sister, Lorraine; and three brothers, Alphonse, Adrien and Jean-Paul.
Resting at Thompson Memorial Home, St. Louis de Kent, with visitation on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9, Tuesday at 2 p.m. until departure for the funeral. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at 4 p.m., St. Louis des Français Roman Catholic Church, St. Louis de Kent. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or New Brunswick Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
