1922 - 2010
Dad passed away on December 15, 2010 after a lengthy and difficult battle with diabetes.
He was born in Meacham, Saskatchewan on July 7, 1922 to Anna and Samuel Adamiw.
He leaves behind his daughter, Marion Kaban, grandson Darcy (Rhonda) Kaban and great grandsons Taylor and Ethan all of Kamloops, B.C., along with his other grandson Christopher (Debbie) Kaban and great grandson Cashe all of Prince George, B.C.
He was predeceased by his devoted wife of 52 years, Anne, his brothers Harry, Fred, Joe and his sister Eva.
Dad was a journeyman carpenter by trade who took great pride in all his work. His career took him and his family from Saskatoon to Edmonton, Surrey, Kelowna and finally to Logan Lake where he ended his career at Highland Valley Copper. He and mom were great hockey fans of their grandsons, sitting in many cold arenas to watch them play. Dad also loved to play his mouth organ or play the guitar and sing which he often did during his lengthy stay at Pine Grove Care Centre.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful staff at Pine Grove for taking such good care of dad when we were not able to. Thanks also to Dr. Hamilton for looking after his medical needs.
The Reverend Father Peter Nguyen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., with interment following at 2:00 p.m. in the Logan Lake Cemetery.
Should friends desire, donations to the Diabetes Association, 1589 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, B.C., V1Y 5V7 or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
