Arlene MacDougall
August 21, 1950 - December 19, 2010 - It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Arlene MacDougall, formerly of Saint John, NB. Arlene while surrounded by her loving daughters passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary. Born in Bloomfield, PEI she was the daughter of the late David and Myrtle (Dyment) MacDougall. She is survived by her daughters Carla and Angela Sestito and Ashley MacDougall (Mike) of Calgary and one grandson Tyler Sangollo. Sisters Isabel MacLean (Ralph), Brenda Thibodeau, Gloria Lunney (Steve), and Donna Pike (James). Brothers Earl (Judy), Jim (Valerie) and Bruce (Marion) MacDougall. She is also survived by sister and brother in laws Pam Munn and Gilbert Thibodeau, several nieces and nephews. Arlene was a wonderful devoted mother and grandmother and an amazing sister, friend and aunt. No matter what you were faced with you could count on her to play whatever role you needed. Arlene fought many battles in her life all with amazing courage and determination. In 1999 she retired from Crosby Molasses due to the onset of the crippling disease Rheumatoid Arthritis. We are proud to say she won that battle. She never let it break her spirit and battled it to the end. In November 2010 she was told she had an aggressive form of Cancer. Like everything else in her life she faced that with an amazing amount of courage, strength and dignity and although it took her life it did not take her spirit. Arlene will forever be in the hearts of her many loved ones. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A Memorial and Burial for close family and friends will be held in Saint John at a later date.
