Ronald "Ron" McKay
Ronald "Ron" A. McKay, 63, of Upper Coverdale, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, December 24, 2010, after a lengthy illness. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Lewis and Jean (Angus) McKay. Ron was retired from McKay's Dairy and a partner of JA-Ron Enterprises. He was past president of the NB Milk Dealers and the Atlantic Dairy Council, former secretary of the Moncton Kinsmen Club and past president of the SENBSA. Ron was an outdoors person who enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and boating. He enjoyed flying his plane, motorcycling, travelling by motor home and going to NASCAR races but most of all he enjoyed the many gatherings of family and friends. Ron will be sadly missed by his wife of over 28 years, Barbara Ann (Ritchie) McKay; their children, William "Bill" McKay (Nicki), Upper Coverdale; Loison McLaughlin (Dave), Upper Coverdale; David Geldart (Kim), Vancouver, BC; Michael McKay (Melissa), Berry Mills; grandchildren, Colton and Skylar; Tisha McKay mother of grandsons, Devin and Blake; mother in law, Shirley Ritchie, Upper Coverdale; brother in law, James Ritchie (Donna), Upper Coverdale; sister in law, Ellen Woodworth (Grant), Hillsborough; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Tuesday 7 to 9pm. Celebration of Life Service for Ron at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, December 29, 2010, 1:30pm. Rev. Danny Compton officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery.
