LYONS BROOK – Frances Sophia Baillie, 86, of Lyons Brook passed away June 26th, 2009, in the Palliative Care Unit, Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Scotland, she was a daughter of the late Malcolm and Sophia (McFagen) Lawrence.
During the war she worked in a casting factory in Scotland and she also worked many years on the family farm in River John.
She is survived by daughters: Ann Patriquin (Leonard), Frances “Kits” Richardson (Bobby), Janet Baillie (Donnie), Corleen Baillie-Lapointe (Pierre); sons: James (Janet), Lawrence ‘Laurie’, John, Brian (Diane), Graham (Sherry); also 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Marie; brothers, James and Hughie; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by husband, William Angus ‘Bill’; son, Malcolm William; and daughter, Daneshia Marie; brothers, Charlie, Malcolm, and one in infancy; sister Ellen.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral by request.
Family flowers only, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Society.
The family would like to thank Drs. Farrell and Burrill, Debbie Williams, and also to the nurses in the Palliative Care Unit and the VON, and also the doctors and nurses in the Oncology Dept. in Halifax.
