Mildred Anne Elizabeth Blohm of Kincaid, SK passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at the age of 75 years. Millie was born in Vernon, BC on June 4, 1935 to Franz and Josepha Thaller, who had immigrated to Canada from Austria. Millie spent her first years in Lumby, BC before moving to Osoyoos, BC. In her early teens she worked in fruit packing plants. At the age of 16, Millie moved to Edmonton and found work in a hairdressing shop. While there she met Norman Blohm, who was working on the oilrigs. They were married on July 11, 1956, in Edmonton. Millie and Norman were blessed with three children, Darrell of Kyle, SK was born on May 29, 1959, Deborah of Kincaid, SK was born on April 28, 1961, and Douglas of Lloydminster, SK was born on August 23, 1962. Doug accidentally passed away on the Annaray River on September 6, 1992. In 1964, Millie and Norman moved home and took over the family farm near Arbuthnot, south of Glen Bain. They lived on the farm until 1981, when they moved to the Village of Kincaid. There, Norman built a carwash and garage, which is now Red Coat Gas and Wash. Millie cleaned rooms at the Windsor Hotel until her health prevented her from working. She enjoyed gardening, curling and watching Toronto Blue Jays games. Millie is survived by her loving family, son Darrell (Audrey), grandson Kennith (Isabelle) and great granddaughter Abigaelle; daughter Deborah (Wayne) Sadowski, grandsons Jason and Mike; daughter-in-law Phyllis, grandsons James and Steven; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Norman (2000); son Douglas (1992); and grandson Robert (2004). A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, December 18, 2010, at 1:00 p.m., at Piche-Hawkins-Grondin Funeral Chapel, Gravelbourg, SK, with Craig Peterson officiant. Memorial tributes in memory of Millie to the Kidney Foundation of Saskatchewan, Box 126, Swift Current, SK S9H 4V2. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Piche-Hawkins-Grondin Funeral Chapels, Assiniboia & Gravelbourg.
