The family of Frances Pauline (Carr) Smith wish to announce her passing on December 27, 2010 at York Manor. She was the wife of the late Byron Smith. Born in Geary in 1920, she was the daughter of the late Manton and Elsie Carr. Following graduation from business college, Frances was employed with the federal government for 45 years - first in Ottawa with the Department of Transportation, and then at CFB Gagetown. Frances leaves to mourn her nephew and nieces: C. Vincent Carr (Betty), Dartmouth; Constance Carr, Geary; Elsie Evans (Lynwood), Fredericton; and Marilyn Carr (George King), St. John's; sister-in-law Joyce Carr (Wilson), Geary; and several great-nephews, great-nieces, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Byron, her parents, and her sister, Laura Carr (Clarence).
Visitation will take place at Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St., on Wednesday, December 29th, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Geary Baptist Church on Thursday, December 30th at 2:00 pm with Rev. Greg Sparkes officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
