Donna Roy

Donna M. (McGuire) Roy of Upper Queensbury, NB passed away December 27, 2010 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in 1948 at Fredericton, NB, she was a daughter of the late Earle and Annetta (King) McGuire. Donna was employed for several years as a Secretary at the Fredericton Centennial Building. She was a member of St. Simon and St. Jude Catholic Church and the CCW. Donna was a gracious woman, taking nothing for granted. She appreciated all of life's blessings, especially the treasured time with family and friends. Her warm, radiant smile and gentle nature brought comfort and love to anyone in her presence. Her concerns were always for others rather than herself. Donna's strong faith and positive approach to life carried her through her journey with grace; inspiring many. Donna is survived by her children, Sara Belong (John), Fredericton and Darin Roy (Lisa), Lower Queensbury; two grandchildren, Amber and Josh; three sisters, Sharon Chahley (Wayne), Cathy Corey (Randy), both of Halifax, NS, Joan Hawkins, Upper Queensbury; two brothers-in-law, Ron Roy, Nackawic and Robert Roy (Beverly), Fort Erie, ON; six sisters-in-law, Marianne McCooey (Ed), Theresa Roy (Bob), Nora Matthewson (Larry), Jean Roy, all of Fort Erie, ON, Claudette Minnick (Greg), Cambridge, ON and Simmion Roy, Hamilton, ON; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased by her husband, Claude J. Roy on April 5, 2010; a sister, Carolyn Roy in 2005; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Simon and St. Jude Catholic Church, Nackawic on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 11a.m. Interment will be later in St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery.
