Helen Elizabeth Fielding
Fielding, Helen Elizabeth, Truro/Brookfield, passed away peacefully in her 88th year on December 28, 2010. Born in Truro on July 1, 1922, she was the daughter and only child of the late John Robert and Lydia Rose (Shears) Henderson. Helen leaves behind her husband of 70 years, Fred; and only child, Susan Fielding-Mowatt (Harry Mowatt) of Greenfield. Helen was a professional milliner and after many years of making felt hats and bonnets for every occasion she found her love of making wedding headpieces and veils to be her true passion for well over 30 years. Many a bride walked down the aisle sporting a "Helen Fielding Original" headpiece and veil. Mom enjoyed crocheting Christmas ornaments and, along with Dad enjoyed their Friday night card games, Saturday night dances and many winter trips to a "hot spot" or to Europe. Dad and I would like to express our sincere thank you to the staff of Eagle Lane of Elk Court in Brookfield for their loving care that Mom received each and every day. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 31st from 10 am to 11 am followed by a funeral service at 11 am both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Gary Yetman officiating. Interment at a later date in Terrace Hill Cemetery. Family flowers only. Mom's wish was to have any donations, if so desired, given to the local SPCA, the Senior's Clinic of the Colchester East Hants Health Authority or a charity of choice. On line-condolences may be sent to www.colchestercommunity.com
