Jessie Edith Ryan, 86, of Petitcodiac, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Moncton Hospital with her daughter and son at her side. Born in Whites Mountain, Kings County, she was a daughter of the late Lamont and Velma (Coates) MacDonald. Jessie was a retired Red Cross Homemaker, a member of the Petitcodiac Baptist Church, choir and social committee member and long time Sunday School Teacher. She was also a volunteer at the K.E. Spencer Memorial Home. Jessie enjoyed nature during her daily walks and she especially cherished time spent with her family. She will be sadly missed by her children Chesley (Ches) (Dorothy) of Moncton and Deborah Eastwick (Stephen) of Riverview; grandchildren Janice Melvin, Susan Thorne, Richard Ryan, Tracy Wetselaar, Tara Marleau, Jillian Morrisey, Michael Redpath and Tara Gee; 16 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; brother Clarence MacDonald of Petitcodiac; sister Pearl Anderson of Petitcodiac; half brothers Kenneth Thompson of Sussex and Colin Thompson of Petitcodiac. Predeceased by husband Chesley (1978); sister Ruby Brooks; brothers Blair, Robert and Lawrence MacDonald; step father Bruce Thompson.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visitation Thursday 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral will be held from the Petitcodiac Baptist Church Friday, December 31 at 1 pm with Rev. Dr. Rick Thomas officiating. Interment at Maplewood Cemetery. Memorials, if desired to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Petitcodiac Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
