NEW GLASGOW/SUNNY BRAE – Donald Alexander Cameron, 93, of Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Sunny Brae, passed away Sunday, June 28th, 2009 at the Manor.
Born in Cummings Mountain, Sunny Brae, he was a son of the late Dan Hugh and Margaret Sophia (Cameron) Cameron.
Donald was a resident of the Glen Haven Manor for the past year, prior to which he was a long time resident of Sunny Brae. He worked most of his life as a lumberman and for 11 years he was employed with the Department of Transportation as a Road Foreman. He was a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church, Sunny Brae where he was an elder and member of the church choir. He was also a member of the Stellarton Male Chorus.
Donald is survived by his son, Charles (Wanda), Springville; grandsons, Dan and Darrel (Catherine); great-grandchildren, Nate and Ruth.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Jean Helen (Otto); second wife, Gwen Druhan; brothers: Hugh, Simon and Fred; sister, Mary Betts.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Andrew MacDonald assisted by Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will be in the Sunny Brae Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Donald may be made to the Calvin Presbyterian Church, the Sunny Brae Cemetery or to Glen Haven Manor.
