Gordon C. Waters, c.d., 94, of the Veterans' Health Care Centre, Moncton and formerly of Riverview, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday morning, December 29, 2010. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Sidney and Johannah (Furlotte) Waters. Gordon was a retired Personnel Clerk with the Federal Government (UIC) with 34 years service and was one of the founding members of Mountain View United Church. He was a member of Tida Bora Temple #259 D.O.K.K., Westmorland Lodge #3, Knights of Pythias, member of the CNR War Vets and Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch #6, and he was a member of the Federal Superannuates National Organization. Gordon was a Veteran of WWII having served overseas with the Royal Canadian Army (1942 - 1946) in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. Gordon enjoyed socializing with his family, especially his grandchildren and their families and friends, and he always enjoyed a good home cooked meal. Gordon will be sadly missed by his daughter, Alice Costain (Rick), Riverview; son, Ronald Waters (Judy), Ottawa, ON; precious grandchildren, Kevin (Rose), Edmonton, AB, Karen of Ottawa, Scott (Selena), Riverview, Darren (Tina), Sault Ste Marie, ON; treasured great grandchildren, Jonah, Sheldon, Michael, Katherine, Emily, Alexandria, Haley; several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Bridget (Dunne) Waters (1992); sisters, Mabel and Irene; brothers, Earl, Willis and Charles.
