Ross, Rodney Murray – 65, West Earltown (Tatamagouche), passed away peacefully on June 29, 2009 at the home of his son in Malagash with his family at his side. Born February 28, 1944 in Halifax, he moved to East New Annan in 1956 to live with his grandparents, Gordon and Susan Cook. Rodney worked as Chef at the School for Girls in Truro, Colchester Hospital, off-shore oil rigs, and Provincial Resorts at Keltic Lodge, Digby Pines and Liscomb Lodge and was Chef and dietary supervisor at Shiretown Nursing Home at the time of his retirement in July, 2008. He loved spending time at his camp at Byers Lake with family and friends. His love and knowledge of antique vehicles was shared with many. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 45 years, Luanne (Langille); sons, Jodi (Jody), Porters Lake; Lyle (Brandi), Malagash; his dear granddaughters, Kelsey-Jean, Courtney and Kailey; step-mother, Gean Ross, Cole Harbour; mother-in-law, Olla Langille, Tatamagouche; and his special dog, Molly. He was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Edythe (Cook) (Ross) Daigle; daughter, Denise, at birth. Cremation has taken place. By request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or funeral services. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to Colchester/Cumberland Palliative Care or VON. A special thanks to Dr. Christopher Moss, Dr. Mark Welsh, nurses on 6th floor of the VG, and nurses of Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital. Also, thanks to nurses of VON (Colchester and Cumberland Counties) and to Martha Underwood of Palliative Care for her care and compassion.
