Patrick Stewart "Rabbit" Hare
HARE, Patrick Stewart "Rabbit" - 69, Bible Hill, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at his side, on Wednesday evening, December 29, 2010, at home. Born November 28, 1941, in Truro, he was a son of the late Bill and Georgina (Matthews) Hare. Pat worked with CNR as a brakeman for 25 years until ill health forced him to retire in 2002. He was an associate member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro, and a member of the Air Force Club. Pat was an avid baseball player, having played with North River Aces, with whom he is pictured in the "Hall of Fame", and he sure was proud to show that off to anyone he went to lunch with at the Glengarry. He loved golf, playing cards and watching hockey, cheering on his favourite team, Montreal Canadiens. Pat is survived by his loving companion, Debbie Smith, Bible Hill; sons, Troy, Kelly, Ontario; step-daughters, Dawn, Tara, Truro; sister, Cheryl Parnell (Wayne Brown), Halifax; brother, Carl (Mary) Hare, Truro; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; best friend, Hector Conrad "HC"; "like a second mother", Vera Conrad and all the Conrad family. Special thanks are extended to Dr. David Blair, VON home care nurses and Palliative Care Team, especially Dr. David Henderson, Dr. Cortney Smith, Dawn Martel and Lisa Wilson for the exceptional care shown to Pat and his family.
