It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" J. Williams on Monday, December 27th, 2010. Born May 10th, 1926 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Edouard and the late Marguerite (Bastarache) Williams. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Dorothy (Melanson) Williams; three loving children: Lisa Gauvin (Roland) of Moncton, Charles of Fitchburg, Mass. and Paula Eberhardt of St-Philippe; a daughter-in-law : Elizabeth (late Brian) of Dartmouth; seven grandchildren: Lyndsay, Alex, Daniel, Suzanne, Carissa, Cherisse and Éric; a great-grandson : Maxime; two sisters: Imelda Leger of Lunenburg, Mass., Jeanita Belliveau, of Largo, Fla.; four brothers: Armand (Lillian) of Oakham, Mass., Ulysse "Joe" (Bernice) of Lunenburg, Mass., Camille (Clara) of Moncton, Paul (Louise) of Cocagne, N.B; two sisters-in-law: Velida Williams of Moncton and Tina Williams of Hooksett, NH., and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Brian (1995); two sisters: Dorilla (Dot) and Florine; and two brothers: Gerry and Laurie. He was a retired employee at the CN Freight Shed in Moncton. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion 006, the Canadian National Pensioners' Association and the Club d'Âge d'Or Assomption de Moncton and Dieppe. Bob had a wonderful outlook on life and lived it to its fullest. This was so evident in his glowing smile and jovial personality that could warm the coldest hearts. He was a Jack-of-all-trades whom over the years had mastered quite a few. He was also an avid outdoorsman with plenty of stories to relate about times spent hunting and fishing at the family camp in Summit. He will certainly be missed by his family and loved ones but also by those that had the opportunity to have known him.
It was his wish that no visitations be held prior to the Funeral. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral, Moncton on Tuesday, January 4th, 2011 at 11 am followed by a reception at the Christ-Roi Golden Age Club, 305 Dominion Street, Moncton. Memorial donations to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
