Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital, on Saturday, January 1, 2011, Rebecca Oliver of Burnt Point, age 89 years. Predeceased by parents: Eli and Susannah Wicks; brothers: Hayward, Elijah, Joshua, Ishmael, Melvin and John Thomas; sisters: Violet and Mary Ann; son-in-law: John Tucker; grandson: Glenn Kennell. Left to mourn, husband: Charles, Collingwood Downs Seniors Home, Clarke's Beach; three daughters: Rita (Allan) Kennell, Topsail Pond, Bertha Tucker, Paradise and Doreen (Randy) Coley's Point; one son: David (Sadie), Burnt Point; eight grandchildren: Derrick (Michelle), Greg (Nikki), Lori (Brad), Melanie (Sheldon), Ashley (James), Charlene (Jamie), Crystal (Derrick) and Jason (Danielle); five great-grandchildren: Justin, Logan, Destiny, Emma and Dawson; granddaughter-in-law: Marina Kennell; sister: Mildred Tucker, Ruby Manor, Mount Pearl; Rebecca's caregivers and friends at Collingwood Downs where she resided; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay. Mr. Alex Stephenson and Mr. Andrew Pottle conducted the funeral service on January 5 from the Gospel Hall, Burnt Point. Interment took place in the Gospel Hall Cemetery, Burnt Point. Donations in her memory may be made to the Gospel Hall Cemetery, Burnt Point.
