Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit, Dr. L. A. Miller Centre on Sunday, June 28, 2009, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer at age of 71. Predeceased by her husband Donald in March of 2008. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons: Paul (Tobi), and Dave (Maxine); daughter Linda (Brent); three cherished grandchildren: Chad (Janelle), Cody, and Morgan; brothers: John (Daphne), Roy (Clara), Stewart (Caroline), Albert (Theresa), Lloyd (Dorothy); sisters: Mary, Pamela (Robert); sister-in-law Shirley Shurpe of New Jersey, U.S.A. Special friends Sheila, Cliff, Venessa and Stephen; As well as a large circle of family and friends. The family would like to say a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, 4NA of the HSC and the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. L.A Miller Centre. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave, on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Also on Wednesday from 10 a.m-12 noon. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 2 p.m. from Park Avenue Pentecostal Church, Mount Pearl. Cremation to follow.
