Mabel V. Parsons

Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, Mabel V. Parsons of Victoria; formerly of Freshwater, Carbonear, age 84 years. Predeceased by son: Douglas; parents: John and Beatrice Slade; brothers: John and Murdock; sisters: Susannah Dean, Dorothy Rossiter and Christina Pye; brothers-in-law: Chesley Vaters, William Curnew and Chesley Clarke; sister-in-law: Vera Slade. Left to mourn, husband: James H.; eight daughters: Judy (Lloyd) Green, Carbonear, Elsie (Will) Collins, Victoria, Dallas (Eric) Parsons, Freshwater, Carbonear, Helen (Hubert) Parsons, Salmon Cove, Leona (Randy) King and Susan (Dennis) Green, both of Freshwater, Carbonear, Claudia (Bernie) Woodrow, Salmon Cove and Claudette (David) White, Freshwater, Carbonear; five sons: Bert (Frederica), Nelson and Jim (Denise), all of Carbonear, Evan (Barbara) and Junior (Bonnie), both of Freshwater, Carbonear; daughter-in-law: Harriet Parsons, Salmon Cove; thirty grandchildren and a large number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three sisters: Maxine Vaters, Nina Curnew and Freda Clarke, all of Victoria; sister-in-law: Janie Cole, Victoria; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Pastor Geoffrey Ryan conducted the funeral service on Saturday, January 8 at Bethel Pentecostal Church, Victoria. Interment was in Bethel Pentecostal Cemetery, Victoria. Donations in her memory may be made to the Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Noel's Funeral Home, Carbonear.
