It is with great sadness the family announce the death of John Lavigne of Saint John devoted widower of the late Mary (Moore) Lavigne, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, January 8, 2011 with his son at his side. He was born in Ontario in 1933 to the late William James and Hazel Mary (Higgs) Lavigne. John worked as a Systems Analyst and Shop Foreman for McAvity for over 46 years. John is survived by his son John William Lavigne (Tammy Clark) of Saint John; siblings Louise Robertson of Saint John; Dorothy Hanlon of Saint John; James Lavigne (Donna) of Willow Grove, Richard Lavigne of Saint John, Brian Lavigne (Judy) of Norton and Katherine Caswell (Charles) of Halifax, NS several nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his wife Mary. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). A memorial service will be held at the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 11th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to take place at a later date.
