(1948 - 2009)–Passed away peacefully at the Montreal General Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his wife and soul mate Margaret (Morrissey); brother Fred Porter (Ella): sisters: Faye Hickey (Jack), Judy Porter (Lawrence), Robyn Thompson (Ian), Ramona Cole and June Turpin (Arden); brother-in-law Paul Morrissey (Shelly); as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home at 328 Hamilton Avenue on Friday, July 3, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral to be held on Saturday, July 4, at 2:00 at St. Nicholas’ Church in Torbay. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Memorial University of Newfoundland for use as scholarships for
