Percy "Butch" Blackmore
Percy "Butch" L. Blackmore, 66, of Moncton, with his loving family by his side, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday, January 8, 2011. Born in Newcastle, he was the son of the late Percy and Pearl (Allison) Blackmore. Butch was a former employee of Navcan, CNR and was a retired electrician at the Moncton Hospital. He was a member of St. Andrew's Anglican Church where he served his church in various capacities in past years. He was formerly involved in the Miramichi Rock and Roll Festival, loved music (played in a band), enjoyed working with model railroads, gardening and socializing with family and friends. Butch will be sadly missed by his wife of over 45 years, Barbara (Mullin) Blackmore, Moncton; his children, Michael (Nadine), Ottawa and Robin, Moncton; precious grandson, Curtis, Ottawa; sisters, Donna Frenette (Paul), Miramichi; Vivian Duffy (Richard), Miramichi; brothers, Stephen (Margaret Rose), Boom Road; Glen (Karen), Moncton; special aunt, Lillian Doran, Miramichi; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Reid.
Visitation at St. Andrew's Anglican Church (105 Elmwood Dr.), Moncton Tuesday 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Service to be held at St. Andrew's Anglican Church on Wednesday, January 12, 2011, 11:00am, Rev. Wendy Amos-Binks officiating. Reception in the church hall following the service. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery. Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), in care of arrangements.
