Kenneth Byers
The unexpected death of Kenny Byers occurred at his residence on Sunday, January 8, 2011. He was born on January 30, 1938 at West Saint John to the late William and Elizabeth (Clark) Byers. Kenny worked for many years as a Hydraulic Operator at the Halifax Shipyard. He was an accomplished dart and billiard player, winning many tournaments over the years. He played in dart and billiard leagues in Grand Bay-Westfield and Brown's Flat. Kenny is survived by three daughters: Anne Marie Beshara (Tom), Valerie Theriault and Jamie Robicheau (Stephen) all of Saint John; Anne, Kevin and Valerie's mother, Freda (Delaney) Byers; five step-children: Sandra, Peter (Debbie), Christine, Robin (Sherry), and Linda (Jim) Bailey; two sisters: Beatrice Conley and Helen "Johnny" Gifford (Nick); one brother, William "Buddy" (Norma); seven grandchildren: Max (Allisa), Kyle (Leah), Shane, Tonya (Mark), Tommy, Dayne, and Alexandra; several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; common-law wife, Audrey Bailey (Grady); son, Kevin; sisters: Muriel LeBlanc Phyllis "Mamie" Jones, and Marjorie Seaman and brothers: Harold "Pokey", Eugene, Roland and Arthur.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 2 PM. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
