Peacefully and with her family at her side, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home Charlottetown on Sunday Jan. 9, 2011 of "Bunnie" Leona Catherine (Weatherbie) Kennedy of Charlottetown, aged 76 years. Born in Charlottetown on Aug. 31, 1934 daughter of the late William and Priscilla (Dowling) Weatherbie. Beloved wife of 48 years to James K. (Jim) Kennedy. Loving mother of Rick (Jane) Kennedy, Summerside and proud nanny to four beautiful granddaughters Sarah, Megan, Rebecca and Emma Kennedy. Sister of Shirley Reid, Emyvale; Marlene Goodine (Leroy), Marysville, NB and Blaine Weatherbie, Sherwood. Sister-in-law of Norberta, Marg and Liz Weatherbie, all of Charlottetown and Beatrice Kennedy, Frances Kennedy and Margaret Kennedy all of Kensington. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Theresa (Duda) McQuaid and Lorraine Flanagan, brothers Ralph, George and Billy Weatherbie. Resting at the Belvedere Funeral Home until Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. then to St. Pius X Church for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment in People's Cemetery, Kensington. Visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. If so desired contributions may be made to the PEI Cancer Society or the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home.
